A note from Shalya
I started reDot with a simple question: why are we still so uncomfortable talking about something that is a completely normal part of life?
Menstrual health is surrounded by stigma, misinformation, and conversations that are often left unfinished. I wanted to create a space that could approach these issues openly, thoughtfully, and without making them feel uncomfortable to talk about.
What began as a small, youth-led initiative has grown into a community built around research, education, advocacy, and conversation. Through reDot, I have had the opportunity to work with young people across different countries, learn from healthcare professionals and researchers, and create projects that turn questions into conversations and conversations into action.
I don't believe that young people need to wait to make a difference. We can ask questions, conduct research, challenge what we have been taught, and create spaces where others feel comfortable doing the same.
There is still so much to learn and so much more to change. reDot is my attempt to contribute to that change, while building something that can continue to grow far beyond where it began.
Thank you for being a part of it.
